I have a Euro reef on my 65g and run a Deltec AP702 on my 225g. Always satisfied with both.

Euro Reef has been nothing but great for me. Personally Bubble kingS are good but WAY overpriced IMO

I think your best bet, in this order, would be an- ATB Large,BK SM250 (which is more comparable to the ATB Med), MSX300

ATB Med- Air 950L/hr (Eheim 1260)
54 watts
Tank rating: up to 480 gallons (I would say 250-300g w/ a couple of big poopers)
$1199 w/1260

BK SM250- Air 1000L/hr
45 Watt
Tank rating: up to 800 gallons (yeah right.. 250-300g w/ the same bioload)
$1659.99

ATB Med w/ Airstar 1500- Air 1500L/HR
45 Watt
Tank Rating: ??
Price- $1300??

ATB Large w/ AirStar 1500- Air 2250 L/hr
47 watt
Tank rating: up to 798 gallons (Victor might be pushing it- :)
$1949
Fact check!

BK SM250 is comparible to the ATB Large. The ATB Medium is not in the same class even now that it includes the Airstar 1500. Now the Medium w/ Airstar 1500 is comparible to the BK SM200 that also has 1500L/hr of air.

BK SM250- Air 1000L/hr (correction: that's 2000L/hr)
45 Watt
Tank rating: up to 800 gallons (deleted now that we have the proper stats!)
$1659.99

ATB Med w/ Airstar 1500- Air 1500L/HR (although they advertise it as 1300L/hr)
45 Watt
Tank Rating: 480 (at least 25-40% more than the ATB Medium w/ the Eheim)
Price- $1400 (you can now get the ATB Econo 1050 w/ Aristar and save a bit)

Couple of newcomers:

ATB Med Econo 1050 - Air 1500L/HR
45 Watt
Tank Rating: 480
Price- $1200??

Royal Exclusiv Alpha 250 - Air 1500L/HR
38 Watt
Tank Rating: ??
Price- $1200

I have to agree with Big D. That being said, I chose the ATB Large for my next skimmer.

I own a couple of Bubbleking's and love them all the way, However I just got the ATB medium Ext for my new Elos tank and I will let you all know what I think about it. On a quick note I rate the build quality on the bubble king a 10 and the ATB a 9.

The build quality on the BK is superb. After review many skimmers I would say the best skimmer out there is still a bubble king. I have ran, Bubble king, ATB, Warner Marine, Octo X, MSX, Bermuda, AQUAC, ETSS, Octo nw, and others. They all have there little quirks about them. Except for the Bubble king. I will have the alpha 250 I will be doing a review on here in another week. Hope this helps but the super marin BK skimmers are simply amazing in every way. Mojo~

I would go with H&S skimmers. Very efficent and easy to clean and maintain.

I really like the RD pumps on the BK skimmers, though the askolls on the ATB are pretty much the same thing. I'm very intrigued by the dense foam of the cones, and will probably upgrade my mini 160 (in know, it's a different league) to a 200 vertex/bk cone. I am very impressed with the bk build quality.
