Which tank is better place for sponge filter?

I bought sponge filter for my 100gallon reef tank. And think about where I put this in between main tank or sump tank.
Please give me some advise.

I am at work now so I will upload pic later. But my question is where I can put this sponge filter. Like a sump tan? or the aquarium? if i put it in aquarium then fishes likes this but corals maybe don't like this, I think.
