Couldn’t figure out why my protein skimmer was going nuts. Shut it off and found this white/clear gelatinous goo. Almost looked like the consistency of a jelly fish that might wash up on the beach. It’s some thick, heavy stuff. Anyone know what this might be?
A little tank info… mixed reef, nitrates around 6, phosphates around .03, pH 8.4-8.4, ALK about 10. And I use kalk. One thing that’s new for me… haven’t done a water change in over 2 months. I keep up on maintenance and my parameters are extremely stable. I have no algae and corals have never looked better. Much more so than when I was doing weekly water changes.
