White fuzz

I've got an acan that wasn't acting right. I looked and there was white fuzz on its skeleton. I whipped it off with a dry napkin and got most of it off. There's a bit still at its base but am trying to figure out what it is and how to treat it. It's not the snails that look like salt

I really can't see much in the image. Sponge?
It's still at the base of the tallest one. Maybe a sponge. I know that a can wasn't happy with it there so I whipped most of it away with a paper towel. It was more stiff so I don't think it was bacteria
