Hi Guys,

So I have this Hammer coral about a month. It's doing ok, but I have noticed it's receding a little bit in one (top) part. This part of the skeleton is white, and at night when the coral closes up it's visually more white than the rest of the skeleton.

I had dipped with Dip-X

Any idea what this is?

Alk 8
Nitrate 5
P03 .06

thanks

I
Is that mounted so it's sticking out sideways from the rock? It would prefer to be upright if so. What kind of par is it receiving? Looks a little pale.
yes its at a bit of an angle, could that be it? I thought possibly, but wasnt sure.

not sure of the par but i have 2 reef led 90s

Well I dunno. Not familiar with the lights. Was wondering if maybe the side of the coral was getting blasted by light which it probably would not like. Looks like maybe a wall hammer? A month is barely enough time for the coral to really acclimate properly. Nitrates at 5 are a little on the low side so maybe it's not getting enough nutrition? The torch looks happy. How are your other parameters? Ca, Mg etc salinity?
