Three Days ago a blurred white spot, now clearly defined. Hasn't eaten since appeared. Any ideas? Now to try to catch him. Ugh

The colored pic is from for days ago. Yes the right spot can be a cheek spine I'm taking about the blurred white spot to the left of its dorsal fun. Is the blue pics this morning, the same area to the left of the Doral fin, it's now clearly defined as a white ring.

Our female Mandarin developed a few circular white spots on her body (top of the head, left side towards the tail) a few months back - similar to what yours look like (hers were initially much larger and more pronounced, though).

We never could figure out what caused them, but they weren’t caused by disease, parasites or stress (and she was eating just fine). Our beat guess (and that of our LFS) was that she may have just scraped herself on a rock. She was a tad on the small side and our coral banded shrimp had taken a poke or two at her.

They faded away not long after we moved her into a new tank and have completely disappeared. Other than acclimating and relocating her to a new home, we didn’t do anything else to treat her.

Not sure if this helps or not.

Here is the spot on her head.

Here is the spot on her tail, just below her dorsal fin (the circular, blueish cloudy spot).

Another angle of the spot on her head.

Looks like it for sure. Thanks. Unfortunately mine stopped eating. Not sure if she's gonna make it

Ours wasn’t eating as much, either - but remember that they hunt constantly anytime they’re not sleeping. You may want to try some Calanus, brine shrimp and/or R.O.E. with a bit of garlic dispensed through a feeder or pipette (you’ll probably have the most success with Calanus). Wishing your fish well...

Common thought would be that a circular lesion is bacterial - that is how a colony of bacteria grows, outward from the center. However, you mentioned that the mandarin stopped eating - that wouldn't be expected for a small external bacterial lesion like this. to me, that says the problem is internal, and has just spread to the surface.
Can you move the fish to a treatment tank?
Have you tried feeding it live pods?

Jay
