White spikes on lobo

Any input on to what the white spikes are poking out of the side. Have had him for about a week

That’s the lobo’s skeleton. Looks like the flesh was ripped but it will bounce back with stable parameters
 
Tissue recession. Many things can cause this and needs to be monitored closely because things can go bad fast. Usually a stinging nearby coral or a rapid change in chemistry are the culprits. If you start to notice a brown jelly like substance growing around the recession then a dip might be in order. For now monitor and keep a close eye while keeping things stable.
