I recently got a new clown fish and I noticed after about a week of having the fish that there’s a white spot on its eye. Not sure what this is if it’s anything serious or if it’s from fighting with another fish. Here’s some pics

Hard to get an accurate picture. None of my other fish seem to have an issue so not sure what it could be

Did you QT him? I know flukes can cause cloudiness in the eyes and I see a couple spots on him that I’m curious about. His tail appears a little ragged also (maybe poor pic). Is he fighting other fish or showing any other signs of illness? Did you ever do a FW dip?

Just moved the fish to QT with my purple tang and my PBT and the spot seemed to fall off or disappear not sure what it is but gonna keep him in QT for a while and monitor. Anyone have any idea what it was?

If he’s in QT try a FW dip to check for flukes, are treating the Tangs with copper or anything?

I purchased from reputable place and I was moving my QT so I didn’t have it up and running so I just placed it in my DT. I have a maroon that will chase him around if he goes near the anemone but he stays on the other side so not much of an issue. Sometimes my damsel will chase after. I haven’t done a FW drip yet. Fish seems healthy. Further looking at the tail it seems to be a little ridged like you said

I would remove all fish from that tank and treat in copper at a minimum. With a powder blue going in you have no choice, unfortunately. Run the tank fishless for 76 days.

Do you think it’s ich?
On the eye no, but the chances of untreated fish having ich, velvet, or brook is nearly 100% IMO.

Eye spot is likely a fluke, or injury.

When you QT fish do you keep them in copper while in QT or only if they show signs? I’ve had this fish in my tank longer than my current QT has been set up. I used DT water to fill up half of my QT so that way I didn’t have to cycle my QT and my fish don’t show signs of any of the above yet.

I currently have live rock in the QT for the fish to hide under. Do I need to remove the live rock if adding copper? Not planning on using the rock for anything else but in my QT. I’ve heard that if you keep rock then the rock will absorb the copper and you can’t ever use that rock again but if it’s in a QT then does it matter?

I use a quarantine, never DT.

This is what I use. I use metroplex instead of spectrogram now, will explain later (covers more diseases).
