Can anyone help ID what this is? They're appearing more and more on my zoas; they still open with no issue although I do notice they arent multiplying as fast as my acan, which has probably doubled in size over the last two months.

Is this zoa pox?

I don't have Furan-2 handy, just Coral Rx and H2O2

You've got a vermetid snail there, I'd start by popping him off.

That's not zoa pox, looks like some substrate got absorbed into the tissue or perhaps baby vermetids. Any chance you can take a higher resolution picture?

Popped off the vermentid snail!

Here are a few more photos (I hope they help!) I can say after trying to touch one that it's fairly hard.i also removed that odd white sack thing from the bottom of my plug:

Oh boy.... The more I look around at my tank, the more I am wondering if I've got an infestation . I haven't added anything new to my tank since March, where I bought a couple of corals from WWC. Had two turbos in there but that's it. Was there any way to prevent this/is there any way to mitigate (food reduction, etc.)?

Not sure if those are baby vermeitds or something else, if you have a pick I’d just go through and knock them off the zoa. You usually don’t see stuff like that growing directly on the zoa.

Aside from a Bayer dip IDk what more you can do really. Stuff has a way of finding its way in.

Bumble bee snails work on vermeitds so maybe start there.

Thank you. I'll speak to my lfs and see if he's got some bumblebee snails. Guess it's time to bayer dip...

It isn't zoa pox. My zoa's and palys when growing out sometimes will incorporate surrounding material as they grow, like gravel, shells and stuff.

Zoa pox appears more like a pimple on a zoa and paly. You can see the white puss appearance parts.

You do need to remove that giant vermatid snail though on that plug. That'll agitate your zoanthids to some degree depending on species and possibly can cause slower growth over time.

Those are spirorbid worms just filter feeders just leave them be on the coral. You can scrap them off the glass if they are growing there. Bump up your water changes skimming macro etc to reduce nutrients and they will stop multiplying also add some carbon if not already
