Hey guys,

So after I added some berghia to my tank, I start to see tiny white threads in the tank. Dunno if it is at all related or something else (I also added some other inverts), but figured I mention.

These threads are very fine and ranges in size from a few mm to like 2cm the longest. They seem inert and are not alive as far as I can tell. Not worms or anything like that.

So far does not seem to cause issues with my fish, corals, or anything else.

Anyone have an idea what they might be?

If you irritate the nudibranch by being rough with them etc they will shed some of their cerata (quills). That's most likely what you're seeing.

I think I've seen this actually, I did irritate one when I was moving over to an aiptasia. They look a bit plumper right? The ones I saw are very thin, like threads.

Urgh, terrible image. Could not get it under white lights, only blue for now. And I had to screen shot from a video since my phone could not focus on the threads. I'll try again tomorrow.

Anyways, the white lines? That's what I am referring to.

Looks like they shed some cerata to me... I made this mistake when I started dealing with them. I breed them btw... awesome creatures.
Hopefully that's all it is. And that it'll clear up soon.

On that note... reckon filter floss would help trap it all? XD Regardless of whatever 'it' may be?
