White tissue all over

These white tissue attached to rocks, are they harmful or should I be worried?

I can make one out clearly enough to think that they are all pineapple sponges; a harmless and potentially beneficial filter feeder common in the shaded areas of newer tanks. Perfectly normal

Thank you. At one point I have to manually remove it on my GSP frag as it is overgrowing it or feels like suffocating it:D that is why I am worried it might do the same on my other corals.

+1 for pineapple sponges. Usually they can’t harm corals unless they really overgrow on them

That make me think your GSP isn't lit well enough. Pineapple Sponges like to grow in shaded areas of the system, GSP need direct light.

Actually that GSP is glued to the wall with enough light and flow. I don't have the before image but the sponges grow in the center of the frag

Looks like sponge, not to be confused with kitchen dish washing sponge.


My angels dwarf or standard all make quick work of them.
