We just got one and it's absolutely stunning. It's just super shy. Anyone else out there have one? What's the personality like for you? Do you have it in the tank with other wrasse's? Just curious how everyone is doing with their orangeback.

If you have pics, I'd love to see them too! I'll try and get one of mine in the next couple of days.

I have one. Great fish. Shy at first but comes out more once they feel safe. Mine had buddied w/my leopard wrasse. Keep your tank covered. They will jump of they get spooked. Good luck w/him.

Tank is def covered. We have a Labouti Wrasse, Flame Wrasse and a Lineatus Fairy Wrasse. Also a blue spotted jaw fish. Didn't want to chance it. lol

i have one, they're a very pretty fish. actually all of the cyanopleura complex seems pretty amazing

my hope was to have it be the king of the fairies so i have a hooded, a flame, and a pintail in there with him. apparently if orangebacks aren't the dominant fairy they can fade a bit, so mine is still pretty bright at least. but we'll see what happens when the flame and hooded turn male

I had a related cf. cyanoleurpa and it bulled everyone; carpenters wrasse, maroon clown and starry blenny. It eventually jumped to try and boss around the carpet; the carpet won.

I don’t recommend multiple cyanopleura though. I tried and it did not go well.

I think that’s my best pic of my orange back. My phone struggles to pick up the fairies as they’re usually too quick. But in acclimation box prevents ghat

bummer I took it when it was super dim blue
