I had one. I loved it. I never had any issues with it. It was affordable. Neptunes competition until they went out of business. I wish they were still around.

I still use mine! About a year ago someone was selling one in good shape so I bought it for future replacement parts... Although my original RKE still works fine

I had one. Lite version I believe. Hated it. lol
In 2012 I switched to GHL on a new build and was like omg.... this is what a real controller is like.

GHL is Awesome! Just not in my budget and I was already invested in Neptune.

I still have several lite versions and an elite version. Feel like trying a hydros but all my reefkeepers are working well. If I could get my hands on a spare elite head unit I will continue using my reefkeeper for a while more.

I'm looking for a RK Elite v2 head unit if anyone cares to part with one. Just plugged mine in and the screen is going out. Also reboots itself when pressing the menu button.

Warning to anyone using a digital Aquatics controller
Mine shorted out and caught my fish tank and my house on fire
Replace what you have immediately
It's a shame they're not in business still or I would be suing them
I lost over $200000 worth of coral fish and equipment

what exactly shorted out, a power bar? Pics? You wouldn't happen to have an SL2v2 module that survived the fire would you?

You had $200k worth of fish and equipment alone? Can we possibly see pics of your setup before the incident? That would be cool.

I used this system for years and one power bar shorted but was trouble free to me and very reliable. I have Apex now but would return to RKE in a heartbeat

I still have two Archons and a RKE but my tank is now controlled by Hydros. Coming form the Digital Aquatics platform the Hydros was very easy to pick up since it has different output types similar to the RKE and Archon. I slowly switched things over and was passing signals back forth between the Archon and Hydros. The Archon still controls some of the lighting but that is it.

Ran Reefkeepers way back in the day. Had lites and an elite. Switched to neptune on the tank that had been running the elite. Shut that tank down and sold off all the equipment due to an upcoming move. Now have moved and the current tank has GHL.

Out of all of them the GHL has been the most trouble free, but it can be harder to wrap your mind around how they program and communicate things. Very reliable though.
