Sorry to spoil the fun and get back on topic, I’m a very serious person. My first go in reefing I always had a blue cleaner wrasse and when I would put my hand in the tank and make a fist, leaving an opening between my thumb and index finger it would swim in and stay there until I opened my hand. Yeah
I ordered a dwarf lionfish but got a volitan…

Then my second just had a giant bite out of it one morning. No idea how, though it had been annoying my tilefish

I never saw aggression from mine, is that common? I asked my lfs if they would order me one a couple years ago and was told they wouldn’t because they ship poorly. When I started in the mid nineties they were everywhere. I’m planning a delayed upgrade this fall and will be ordering some fish my lfs can’t get from Dr. Reef and was planning on getting one from them. Might have to rethink it when I get your reply.

Who says fish can't be cuddly?? I mean you shouldn't touch your fish as you could harm their slime coat but the occasional stroke is fine.

Anyway, which of your fish would be most up for a cuddle, if it could?

Mine is my hooded flame fairy wrasse. He is a bit too used to me sticking my hands in the tank to right my clam.

He's great. When I put my hands in the tank everyone disappears. I can take a hint...

It was weird, I got both from biota and they were perfect. Until I added tamarind wrasse. Both of mine went absolutely ballistic towards the tamarins. Then later they just pestered fish.


I've also heard worse from wild caught ones, pestering to the point of injury or death.

Thanks for responding, could it be that you had two? I only had one at a time and I always had a sixline in there too. I’ve got some thinking to do.

Hearing that I might skip it. Although it would be easy to remove him if it exhibits the same behavior as my other ones, just life out instead of opening my hand and rehome it in my lfs. I’ve got time, I’ll let the angel and the devil on my shoulders battle it out for awhile, thanks for the feedback.

If I don’t have food….. I only get abused!!! One of my purp tangs wants to swipe me, and my hybrid got me yesterday!!!!!! Yea mine really are like an abusive spous!!! Haha!!
