I have a few alveopora corals in my tank. 2 of them open up 80-100% daily. The other one opens up a bit, maybe 40%, then closes early. My water parameters are pretty solid except for my po4 which could be a bit lower (just got a chaeto reactor to hopefully help win this).

I have a 50 Watt led light. Currently running 10% white 30% blue for peak hours with a 2 hour sun rise and 2 hour sunset.

9/28 parameters
Ph - 8.1 (meter)
Alk - 8.3 (salifert)
Ca - 460 (salifert)
No3 - 15-20 (salifert)
PO4 - .25 (api)

10/1 parameters
Ph - 8.1
Alk - 8.3
Ca - 460
No3 - 15-20
Po4 - .25

Sometimes that’s what they do…
Have you done an ICP test?

Alveo can be a bit tricky sometimes

Your phosphates are pretty high, which could be the cause. But also, unless you’re talking about two alveoporas from the same mother colony, they may be different species (Alveopora is the genus, there are about 20 different species that come from different conditions, some are found in shallow water, some deeper, some at higher nutrient levels). I’ve got two alveoporas of the same species from the same mother colony, they are right next to
each other, and one consistently has better polyp extension.
