like 1 second they can be fully extended look 2 mins later fully closed not coming out for the rest of the day then the next day they act like nothing ever happened why do they do this?

What a good question! I'm put off getting any more torches - out of all my livestock, my torches seem the most sensitive and delicate of all my corals!

I find my torches only retract during lights out. I find my hammers are the ones that are the finicky ones.

i think it was my light too high making it close cause today it was big and bushy on ramp up but started to close up at just before peak turned the intensity down 10% and its big and bushy again

Be careful. Tank is on the newer side. I would wait till the 12 month period to add any other torches.
Well this 1 i have now is wild i have an aquacultured 1 coming next week i test every 2 days and dose to keep my params stable i also dose nitrates
