Why did he die?

Hi all,
Does anyone know why my royal Gramma died? I noticed he changed behavior when I added my blue spotted jawfish, and the BSJ also kicked him out of his cave/burrow. He only came out to eat once this week since I added BSJ. I saw him swimming last night but woke up this morning and saw him dead. Was he stressed? I'm in the process of checking all my parameters now

That looks like a nasty injury, my first guess would be aggression. Possible secondary bacterial infection.

I did see them kind of squabbling in the burrow, but it was one time and Gramma left and never went back. I do not quaruntine. All my other fish look fine (clowns, firefish, Mandarin, cardinal, and etc)

Don't have mantis shrimp. You think a BSJ could have done this?

Btw just got my ammonia results and that was 0.

Not in one go but sometimes a small nip will quickly get infected.

That makes sense. And after he was ejected from his burrow/cave by BSJ, his behavior changed (4-5 days ago) and he stopped coming out for food.
