why does my coral look like it is dying

Hi Folks,

my coral looks like this, why??

Water:
Alk: 7.8
Ammonia: .07
Calcium: 489
Nitrates: 70.2
PH: 7.7
Phosphate: .33

Thoughts???

The picture is too blue to see, but the water parameters are not ideal. I think some water changes would likely help.

what are your thoughts on "ideal" I never know what they should be. I know it is different for each tank but, good would be a great jumping off point.

ph too low would be my first concern. phosphates and nitrates also quite high, but decent ratio. I'd get ph up as a priority.

Setting up a 5 gallon change (my RO is pretty slow) if I could do whatever I needed what amount would be considered a solid water change for the 75 gallon tank?

That’s a good improvement, you want to target 8.2-8.3 if possible

Where is your magnesium at? Euphyllias do well under high magnesium. Although pH levels lower during nighttime because of reduced photosynthesis I would aim for a daytime pH of at least 8.0.

I see I didnt post that it is 1110 (sat going to test it again now)

Another thing is if you have a refugium and run it at night opposite your tank lights. PH typically drops at night but the fuge light helps keep it more consistent without the drop.
