While researching the proper placement of my Orange Setosa I read something that blew me away. In high flow areas the coral has irregular bumpy growth in order to slow the current and allow the polyps to feed. HOW COOL IS THAT!
After about a year in my tank my Orange Setosa is showing different growth patterns. You can see the upper portion of the coral is encrusting and has the look of a pretty red mountain range while the lower portion of the coral is plating. There also seems to be far more polyps in the high flow area.
