Why no water section?

?? There should/needs to be a water section. That being said I couldn’t find a “water” forum so I’ll ask this here. Simple question. Is rain water RODI?

Quick answer NO. Rainwater is going to have different contaminants dissolved in it, depending on your location. Many counties have restrictions on water collection stations, especially if you want to use it for human consumption.

Rain water contains air pollution plus tar from shingles on your roof. I've seen way too many people use rain water collected from asphalt shingle roofs to water their vegetable gardens.

There’s also bacteria in fresh rainwater (as crazy as it sounds, there are microbes in the clouds).

Why is it brown? Why is it black? Idk just couldn’t find a simple water spot to ask a stupid question.

Please do not use rainwater unless then going through an rodi system like Tidal Gardens does.

Are you harvesting rain clouds? Otherwise how do you collect rainwater besides roof run off?

There are days here where if I set a bucket in my yard it would fill up with rain water. No roof run off needed.

Where do you live? Sounds like Hawaii. I live in the rainy pnw and it took a month to fill 200 gallon rain barrel off my barn roof~ 15x20 during last year's rainiest. Could have filled several though as I only collected off one side.

im also in PNW I’m not trying to fill 200 gal though. Maybe just 5 gal bucket or two. Which as you know could be knocked out in an afternoon or two.
