I just got my 1st Apex. I went out and got a bestA cabinet from IKEA. I'm about to start putting things together and I have a question.

Why the false wall?
What is the purpose?

I will have the EB832, apex head unit, my dosing pump and containers and maybe one or two other things.

Why not mount things on the back wall?

I think it's mainly to hide all the wires. They are longer than needed if everything is is right by eachother. It just looks better.

But dosen't the cabinet itself hide the wires behind it?

Yeah that would do it. As long as you have easy access to behind there, or can fish the wires through. Also salt splashes out the back and could get on the wires, but I wouldn't think it would get too bad.

Are talking about the Cabinet. If you are, how about hiding the writing behind the false wall and putting the modules on the false wall.

You will need access to everything. Not always plug and forget. Also need to be sure there can't be any water splashing on the electronics from behind. Other than that, no reason. I think some folks like to be able to see status lights, or just display their complete set up.
