Wild life pond.

Last year I decided to install a small wild life pond in the rear corner of our garden. The fiberglass pond and waterfall were purchased secondhand. I decide to bury the lower half into the ground then put log roll around the raised part and use the soil to fill in between with compost on top.
A few goldfish and shubunkins, water pkants and marginal plants along with a small. external fifer hidden in the ground to feed the waterfall and that is it.


Mr.Toad visited the pond this year.

A long time ago I was planning to put a Koi pond in our backyard. I dug the hole and our children started using it for a play pen for construction projects with roads and bridges. I was afraid to finish that pond because our toddler would run towards any water body and Often didn’t stop running until she was in face first. We moved away and I filled the hole back with soil. Thanks for the memories. You have filled in that spot nicely and Mr Toad has certified the project completed. Thanks for posting it!

I looked for some pics I had of a small pond I have, but haven't found them yet.

I stuck a 15 gallon plastic muck bucket in the ground and landscaped with rocks and some creeping type plants around it. I'm constantly changing it, adding day lilies and daffodils around it recently. I have a lily pad root mass that pops up every year and usually puts out a flower. I also get visits by a couple of frogs every year.

Thank you. As a small child I was fascinated with ponds and rivers etc.
