Will a Panworld 200PS blow out the side of my Brute?

Okay. I’m trying to build a mixing station in my basement and run the fresh saltwater upstairs. Rough estimate is 20’ of vertical rise and another 60’ of 3/4 and 1/2 pipes.

I’m looking at the Panworld 200PS which has about 39’ of head to do the pumping. But I’m wondering if I could also use it as a circulation pump to mix the saltwater. My concern is that the pump is so powerful that at around 29gpm that the water would just spray across the side wall of the brute can and then go all over the place.

Maybe use a ball valve to lower the flow?

Thanks in advance.

i run that pump with a total of 48' run and i need to ball valve. Good pump and powerful
Thanks @Carz I was going to put a ball valve on the “end” that was going to fill the tank.

Do you think I can use a ball valve to let it recirculate the water inside a brute to mix salt? Would love to get two uses out of it.

Are you installing a bulkhead for pump to draw from at the bottom of brute? T off the pump outlet close to the top of the brute. Add a valve to stop and reduce amount of water recirculating in the brute for mixing. Add another valve on the tee’d end returning pre-mixed water to the tank above. This one is either on or off, with the amount of head pressure and length of run, reduction is not necessary. For the pump, a reduced discharge when mixing water will not damage it. It would be the same as working against say 10-20 feet of head pressure.

Finally got my mixing station built! Had to demo a shower I never used to make room built sub floor, moved sink, and built stand. After getting that all done moved rodi system to wall and built a compact 32gal mixing station let me know what y’all think.

This guy just post this thread. Exactly what I was talking about. Except he went with 2 brutes. The pump is between both brutes, drawing water through bulkheads on bottom of brutes. Pump discharge tee’d returning water to top of brutes and out some nice manifolds he made. The other tee connection has a barbed hose fitting. Not sure but this might be to pump to his tank.

@Rjramos thanks for your reply. You described what I am trying to accomplish. But your layout seems a bit more elegant. Thanks for your thoughts! Much appreciated.

It’s not my layout, it’s Hop2jr that recently posted that nice 2 brute can mixing station. Elegance don’t matter, durability and workability does. You don’t want problems with water leaking or spilling. There are special bulkheads designed for a cylindrical container like a brute can. I mention bulkhead use because that powerful Pan world cannot draft above the water in the brute. It’s not designed to auto prime.

Here’s what I use in my house with a 100ft hose so that I can reach anywhere In the house. My main tank is up about 15 vertical feet and about 50 lateral feet away. But I’ve also used it to add water to my bedroom tank an extra floor above that even, granted the flow was a lot slower. I’m using a blue line pump, but it still has a lot of kick.
I also have a ball valve at the yank end of the hose so I can easily shut it off while at the tank and then go turn off the pump in the garage. I’m using “Uniseals” which are designed for cylindrical containers.

@GlassMunky thanks for the help and the pictures This is really helpful, and I like the mixing tube inside the tank. Great idea.
