Hey all, I'm new to the hobby and I picked up a few shells from a friend for my hermit crabs to take over as they grow, and she also gave me a couple small sand dollars from her collection.
I'm wondering if these will have any negative affect on my tank parameters if I put them in for decoration. They used to be alive obviously, but she has had these in a box for 15+ years.
Thanks in advance!

No it wont hurt a thing but they will probably grow stuff on them since there are some organics still inside them. A shell has no organics inside.

Just grow it: Have you ever added CO2 to your reef tank?
