Will mini maxi carpets get big?

I have one that I bought a while ago and it has gotten to be the size of a soft ball. It eats everything I give it and its colors are still bright. Will it get big like a regular carpet or will it split.

I have seen mini maxi's get up to about 5-6 inches. Never seen one split before though.

the largest maxi I had was about 8" . for splitting you can literally rip them in 1/2 and they will be fine (I accidentally did it )
I got rid of them when they started eating my gobies...
