Will moving aggressive fish to the sump.......

Currently, I have a lawnmower blenny, yellow clown goby, splendid dottyback, and a green mandarin in a 40 breeder (I also have a large maroon clown, but she’s going to a different home this weekend).

I recently added a yellow watchman goby, and the lawnmower beat the heck out of him (so bad that the poor guy didn’t even make it over night) :(

I want to add 3 more fish, but I’m afraid of the bruisers (dottyback and lawnmower).

So I wonder, if I temporarily moved the blenny and dottyback to the sump for a couple weeks, after put the new fish in the display, would that impact the aggressiveness of the blenny snd dotty? Of course, tanking into consideration compatibility.

It might... my Ocellaris clown was being a bully until it started showing signs of ICH. I pulled it and put it in QT for a few weeks to treat. When I returned it to the DT, it had a major change in attitude.
