Will my bully six line eventually kill my clowns?

I feel guilty for still loving my six line, but I do. He’s so active, and I love his look. But, he’s a mass murderer.

So far, his victims are 3 shrimp (2 skunk cleaners, 1 fire shrimp) and possibly my tailspot blenny (fish has literally disappeared, but I suspect “stripey the ripper”).

Tank details:
32 gallon mixed reef with A LOT of rockwork. Been up and running for about 2 years.
Stocked with:
-2 ocellaris clowns (one regular guy who was first fish to tank, then I added a designer who was last fish to tank)
-1 murderous six line
-Lots of snails and hermits
-Healthy copepod population
NOTE: my stocking order was clownfish, blenny (RIP), six line, designer clown; all fairly well established with last fish added like 7+ months ago.

QUESTION — Should I fear for my clowns’ lives??

When I added my latest fish several months ago, the designer clown, he was bullied like a **** by Striped Son of Sam, but then he paired up with my other OG clown, who currently rules the roost.

I really want to keep my six line. So much so, I have pretty much accepted the fact that I can’t add any more fish or shrimp, even though I’d otherwise like to. But, I also don’t want to wake up to a clown bloodbath one morning.

It's a real possibility. Sixlines are notorious to be hell on wheels. Once they become aggressive, they will take on tangs as well. Best not own one.

It is a real possibility. However, if you had maroon clowns, it would most likely be the other way around. Depending on the size fish involved of course;)

I have heard nothing good about six lines other than they eat pests. If you have him for pest control might try a yellow wrasse instead

My six line is doing fantastic and a model citizen!!!! He is living in my sump all alone! Haha
Biggest mistake I ever put in my large 250 tank he was still a jerk and killed off fish 3 times his size. Never again will one go in my tanks.

If the sixline is already aggressive and it hasn't killed the clown then I don't see why that would change. They can be really aggressive with new introductions and similar type fish but if they initially don't kill it you normally see things quieten down after a while. Your clown will benefit from being in a pair and clowns can be really nasty when they want to be. So basically I'd keep an eye on it and decide based on what you see. If aggression begins to increase then you might be better off moving it on but they could equally coexist fine after the sixline asserts it's dominance or sees it's not top dog.
