will one sol work over an illuminata?

I have a Illuminata that has a 100w evo over it. It's worked great but I am looking for something that I can control. I have an opportunity to purchase one sol and was wondering if it'll work. I can't find the coverage on these. The tank is the same size as a 40 breeder just taller. Also what do you lose if you don't use the controller?

Sorry not sure exactly what size a 40f breeder is but I have seen people put 1 or 2 on a 24" cube

You will need 2 for that footprint. IMO.

I would imagine without controller only on/off no dimming? Guessing though.

57g Illuminta? Definitely 2 IMO...36x18x20.....1 SOL will not light the ends as they are less than 12" long each

Yep, definitely 2. I have 1 over my 24" cube and am struggling to get the proper amount of light to all my corals.
