The Varios 4 has been ordered already and I have the Jebao pump now and not liking it.Get the hygger 4000 pump, plenty strong enough, you'll have to dial it back. Cheaper and very user friendly. On my 75 I have it on 30% because the plumbing from original tank is all 1" and it can't dial it in enough to make it a perfect syphon unless I way restrict the overflow.
I think you will be in good shape. The 525 gph recommendation from Nyos is a bit ambiguous (does it mean 525 at zero head pressure? It would help if they specified given they provide the plumbing). As I'm guessing you've seen, the Varios 4 has a flow of over 1,000 gph at zero head. At 6.5 to 8 feet, the flow is roughly in the 500 to 300 range looking at their flow chart:bump- anyone runing a varios 4 pump on a tank about 100gal?
Yeah I am runing the tank now with the overflow dialed way back and the Jebao runing at 20 watts, otherwise the pump does not stay at a constant flow.I think you will be in good shape. If you get it and it's not quite enough for your liking, you could modify the plumbing to remove a couple of elbows (assuming you can get your hands on the appropriate metric PVC stuff).
Hopefully someone with the 100g/Varios4 combo can confirm.
are you running your drain wide open or do you have have a valve on it slowing the overflow a little?I posted in your other thread about the WaveEngine. I use the Varios4 as a return on my tank - I have about 90g of tank water volume. I run it at 100% and I think its enough. Not overpowering...but enough. And it is deadly quiet. I mean...I really can't tell its running. I now have my WaveEngine running 2 Varios4 and 2 gyres. Really helps keep all the powerpacks and external pump controllers down in my cabinet.
Yeah but I like the idea of the wave engine powering the pump and on the varios 6 you have to use the power brick. You can use the varios 6 on the wave engine. Just have to use a 0-10v cable and plug into the controller
Yeah I love the wave engine and currently it's not in use.Yeah I like that option too. I’ve been contemplating getting a varios pump for my 90 gallon I think the 4 would be sufficient but all I have is the le. So I’d have to buy a wave engine too
I went with the varios 4 and really like it. The pump runs on setting 2 and smooth.what did you end up going with?
Oh wow sorry to hear that! but glad to hear the Varios 4 worked out. I thought Id need a Varios 6 for my 100g but maybe the 4 will work too.I went with the varios 4 and really like it. The pump runs on setting 2 and smooth.
I need to add that I ran it with the wave engine but my unit developed a condition in which it would shut off the pump thus making my ATO run more.
Coralvue basically told me just have to buy another W/E so I am done with all hydros products.

For the Wave engine, Would that affect other powerheads you connect to it?
