This is supposed to be a red goniopora. Got it from a friend. It was not opening in his tank for quite a while.

Any idea what's wrong? Will it survive? Any way to revive it?

Still got flesh on it - i see skeleton exposed near bottom from previous tissue loss, but hard to tell the long term prospects. It looks like the top part has a chance of surviving.

If it were my piece, I'd do a preventative dip in iodine. what were friend's parameters when the goni wasn't doing well?

hard to diagnose without more information...

The tissue on top is visible. But it seems to have lost most of the color.. So I was wondering if it will make it through. Its been like this in my tank for about a week now.
