Cleaning Macros

Is it safe for macros like chaeto to be, so-to-speak, quarantined in tap water? I have heard macros can live in various types of waters. Can chaeto survive brackish quarantine? Basically, can we "clean" chaeto in a way that kills off bad things by hyposalinity? Fish diseases would not survive...

I have a ClariSea roller on a Cadlights 70 Gallon it has been amazing thus far the usage of the rolls depends on a few different factors. Hands down one of the best additions to my system.
