I got a new computer today and I'm getting used to Windows 8. My question is that when I view new threads on Reef2Reef and then go to other sites or log off and then come back the thread that I just looked at show's up as unread. Is there a way to change it so all read threads show up as read until new replies are posted?

That's what is happening with me using Windows 7.
I've sent a couple pm's about this and haven't heard back.
The threads just keep building up over the course of days untill I have 20-21 pages of unread threads.
I found that if a hit the " log out " button when I leave, then come back later and " log in ", then I only have threads that were busy since I logged out.

It is how the cookies are set here at R2R for each member. It's this way because we received so many complaints about people messing up and clicking the wrong link and losing the recent posts. I can just tell what I have looked at or what I haven't looked at. LOL!

To clear your cookies here, just log out. Then log back in.

Logging off then back on will not clear your cookies unless you have changed the defaults already to do so.

Open Explorer> to the far upper right you'll see a small thing that looks like a gear below the X, place you mouse pointer on it and click once> and drop down menu will appear, move your mouse pointer down to "Safety" and click once> now move your mouse to the right where you'll see "Delete Browsing History" click on it> a larger box called "Delete Browsing History will appear uncheck everything except "Cookies and website data" then go to the bottom and click the box that say "Delete". You have now cleared your Cookies.

As far as I know, I did nothing to change anything.
All I know is when I log out, there is a box that says

vBulletin Message
all cookies cleared

So am i but you have to open the internet explorer to see the X, its what you can push in the upper right corner to close the internet explorer. All of this is done through internet explorer not the desk top

I'm not seeing it, I have to right click to for a drop down menu to close out IE?

LOL sorry for being a pain, I truly appreciate the help!

see the RED box in the upper left corner with the X in the middle (the image to the left) yours does or doesn't have that?

No mine doesn't have that, there is no toolbar or anything else at the top. I don't know how to take a screen shot or I'd try to do one for you.

My whole screen is the interwebz page lol.... To close it out I have to right click and then a drop down box appears with my tabs and they have x's on them to close them out.

Well now I'm having troubles with coping picture URL's. Before I used to be able to right click on a pic and it would give me the option to copy the URL, now it just wants me to save it to my computer?
