Woke to ATO alarm...

I woke up at 4am to my Tunze ATO alarm. It's clear the float valve stopped the pump from actually overflowing the tank, but what happened with the laser eye? Any ideas?

For reference: the ATO is located in the return pump chamber on my Waterbox Cube 10. That chamber also contains the heater. I have an intank basket in the first chamber with a filter pad, carbon, and bioballs. The middle chamber currently has a handful of bioballs but will be turned into a refugium shortly.

First step is always "clean the glass and sensor"... then proceed from there.
