I have now received three orders from World Wide Corals and figure it's time to share my experiences.
Order #1: eBay sales
I picked up 6 frags from their eBay auctions. I live in the middle of nowhere, yet shipping via FedEx still got the corals to my house around noon (wife was able to run home to throw them in a QT tank for temperature acclimation). 5 out of 6 of the corals looked amazing! Minimal loss of coloration and most of them open in the bags, the rest opening up in less than an hour in the tank. One of the hammers didn't look so hot and ended up brown jellying the next day. World Wide Corals (and especially Dillion) are stand up folks and didn't hesitate to replace the coral under their 10 day guarantee. Communication was literally some of the best that I've ever had with a company - prompt, polite, informative. Another order of corals that happened to arrive the same day from another company didn't make it to the house until 3:30pm and were mostly bleached.
Order #2: Reef2Reef live sale, eBay sales, post live sale, and replacement hammer from Order #1
I picked up another 5 frags from a combination of the above and received 6 corals with the replacement hammer from Order #1. Once again, arrived a little before noon despite my remote location, all of the corals looked happy and healthy. Well packaged, and the shipping list that they include in their boxes make identification a breeze. One coral looked different than their photos (a Ding Dang zoa) coming with only one polyp instead of the three in the WYSIWYG picture and slightly pinker coloration, but I just assume two of the polyps didn't make it. The remaining head is still a beautiful, healthy coral.
Order #3: My WWC Contest box
They sent me EIGHTEEN corals from the My WWC Contest. Once again, all of the corals made it to my house around noon and all of the corals were happy, healthy, and opened up in short order once placed in the tank (if they weren't already open in the shipping bag). They were all beautiful despite the fact that the contest was "our choice". WWC easily could have cheaped out, thrown together a box of cheap junk corals, but they definitely did not!
Overall, I would not hesitate to purchase from WWC again or recommend them to anyone. 29/30 of the corals were in great shape despite the extended shipping time, and their customer service is top notch. All of the corals are growing well in my tank and look even better than the day I got them.
This is a company I'm proud to be associated with, and I don't think I'll ever be straying too far from their corals!
