Would I be better adding the following tang to my 109 gallon 5 ft tank. I have a 4 " Tomini tang already in my system been in for about 6 months. Thinking of adding a second tang what would you guys vote for ?

A ) yellow tang ( would love to get one but near impossible to buy in Canada right now )
B ) purple tang ( heard they can be super aggressive )
C ) gem tang ( never seen one in person not sure they are available in Canada?)
D ) chevron tang ( not sure if same body style as tomini would be a problem )
E ) scopas ( heard this would be great but not super pumped on the look of the scopas )
F) any write in votes for tangs I missed suitable ?

Thanks everyone

I'll suggest one for consideration. Lavender tang.
These guys are highly underrated IMO.

They're great at keeping algae under control and have peaceful temperament.
The lavender color is also very attractive IMO.

I'm getting another one for my tank once it's set up.

Scopas might not seem appealing but when they are in your tank they are actually very beautiful. I love mine.
Thank you that is great to know because it is looking more and more since ill be getting a scopas can you include some pics of yours if you get a chance ? what is the personality like? what other tangs do you have with your scopas ? how big is your tank?

That is a beautiful tang I just think it might look too much like my tomini tang in colouration and shape . I do love the peaceful temperament ill keep this in mind

The bigger issue with mixing tanks is with the process rather than the species and you have to be ready for things to not go right because individual aggression is always variable. There are some good articles online detailing the best practices for mixing tangs.

Yes during the QT process for 45 days I am going to purchase an acclimation box for the display and also a trap box if I have to remove one if it gets bad

Just took these. You can see my 3 tangs. 150g tank. He’s my least aggressive. Loves to pick algae off rocks all day. Very active.
