I am putting together a 180 gallon (72"x24"x24") talk with hammers/frogspawn and fish.

Would this lighting system (I guess I would use (4) 36" lights to cover the 72" with double lights) work well...?

People like them, That would be pricey though no? I feel like you could get 3 hydras for around that, but not sure.

To be honest, I'm not really a fan of those lights with a tank of that depth. Those lights aren't using 3w LEDS and between the 0.2W leds and lack of optics, you really aren't going to get the par that you're looking for. What is your budget and what features are you looking for in a light? I think there are better lights that might give you better long term sucsess in the same price range.

I would skip on it, as that fixture is using 0.5W LEDs that are good for shallow tanks only and low light corals. Look into Reefbreeders Photon V2/V2+ units. Using 2 of their 32" units would cover your whole tank and will be able to grow whatever corals you want, including SPS. WOuld also be cheaper than 4 of the OM units.

At 24 inches deep, the IC and IC Pro might. But not the basic Marine. And no, people don't generally like Current USA lights for anything other than maybe a FOWLR or Softy tank as they are very weak for their price points, and their par values plummet very quickly. As such, most people who use them wind up purchasing something else later on. So it would end up costing you more in the long run.

What is your budget?

The suggestion by @cvrle1 is pretty good. I have heard lots of great things about the ReefBreeders Photon series of lights.

Forgot to mention, I was one of the many users who wound up upgrading their light to something else. Specifically, I upgraded from a Marine i had on my 10 gallon, to a Kessil A80 that I had originally used in an emergency transfer from my 16 biocube to a 29 gallon. Since my 29 gallon now has two A360X lights, I took the A80 (which was originally the secondary light for the first A360X) and moved it to the 10 gallon. The few corals I have are noticeably happier with the A80.

They might be OK on the minimum side. ...a lot of money to spend on the minimum. IMO, you can do better. You will also likely want better soon. Recommend that you just start with something better.

I was originally going to go with, and probably will end up going with, (3) Ecotech Radion X15 Pros.

Just a lot of money when I am only really interested in hammers/frogspawn, etc...

If you are looking at XR15 G4 or G5, when all is said and done, you will still pay more for 3 of those than 2 Photon V2+ units. Each G4 is about $330 if you can find it in stock, plus mounts are another $90 each. You are looking at over $1200 for that setup and will get a lot less light for the money.

The specs say only 36watts, so 2 would be 72watts.
Over a tank your size, I would be thinking more in the range of 600 watts spread out over your length.
The spectrum is right, but is the intensity there?

This is 500 watts over 48”
