Submerged copping piping and reef tanks don't tend to play well with each other.

Manifolds are pretty easy to build out of pvc, they just end up taking up a bit more space. You will likely want at least 1” pipe in your manifold anyway. Many have built manifolds out of smaller pipe only to find out they can’t get enough flow out of them. Our pumps don’t put out the same kind of pressure as city water systems so we need larger pipe to compensate.
