6 weeks ago, I bought a 20g tank w all equipment, a few fish, and some corals (few acans, GSP, and a mushroom). The corals were, according to the seller, purchased 2 weeks prior to the sale. I kept the system in tact (ie didn’t take anything away, didn’t add anything). Seller says he never dipped the corals. I see no sign of hitchhikers to be concerned about other than some Aptasia which I’m treating. These corals are destined for fallow qt prior to making it into my DT. The qt will also house new corals I will purchase which I intend to dip.
So, we know for sure:
- the corals have been in the small system for 6 weeks, and
- we see no hitchhikers to be concerned about
Would you dip these corals or is it safe to assume that, if there were concerning hitchhikers, specially given that it’s such a small tank, they would have become evident by now?

anytime I transfer corals from one tank to another, I will dip it, because it's virtually impossible to see "every" tiny organism living on a coral, good and bad
