Fish Street has a mode description on their site.

The S modes change flow rates. S1 is 100, S2 is 70 or 75 and S3 is 50.

On my wp25 I feel the difference and hear it. The wp40 the same. Only time I hear and feel different speed is when I change the modes on h1 h2 h3

Only way to be sure is to test current. I know it worked when I had 2 25s cause S1 would stir up sand but S3 wouldn't. I have bare bottom with the 40 and haven't tested current cause everything works on S1 fine.
