Wrasse for 37 gallon

I’ve been planning on getting a 37 gallon reef however it is 48 by 15 by 12. What type of wrasse could I put in here other then sixline? I used to have a yellow flasher and I loved it so maybe one of those? I was also looking at a leopard but I think they get too big

I was thinking about those and I love the personality of the one in my lfs tank. Would it look out of place full grown?

You could have a couple of wrasses.
The smaller Halichoeres will work, these generally are;
Halichoeres iridis
Halichoeres leucoxanthus
Halichoeres chrysus
Halichoeres argus
Halichoeres biocellatus
Halichoeres cosmetus
Halichoeres claudia
Then there’s also the smaller Cirrhilabrus species that are like;
Cirrhilabrus adornatus
Cirrhilabrus lubbocki (Indo var.)
Cirrhilabrus hygroxerus
Cirrhilabrus naokoae
Cirrhilabrus afticanus
Cirrhilabrus rubeus
Cirrhilabrus finifenmaa
Cirrhilabrus exquisitus
Then you can also try things from the Macropharyngodon genus;
Macropharyngodon bipartitus
Macropharyngodon negrosensis
Macropharyngodon ornatus
Macropharyngodon vivienae
Macropharyngodon meleagris
Then there’s species from the ‘Pygmy’ Wrasses;
Wetmorella tanakai
Wetmorella nigropinnata
Wetmorella albofasciata
Pseudocheilinops ataenia

This is just a short list of species that will work, obviously each one needs their own research however Paracheilinus species are a bad idea as they are much more darty than others.

Thank you very much :D, do you know if it’s possible to have multiple in tank like this? I know nothing about wrasse territorial/ social groups so for example could I have a flasher wrasse with leopard? Could you have a trio of flashers?

I wouldn’t do any Flashers in your tank.
However you could have 3-4 Wrasses total if they’re smaller species.
In my 3’x16”x1’ tank I have;
2x Pseudocheilinops ataenia
1x Macropharyngodon bipartitus
(1x Macropharyngodon choati in the plan).
So I have generally small wrasses that fit into my tank which is why it works.

However you could have 3-4 Wrasses total if they’re smaller species.

Do you notice any aggressive behaviour between them? Especially with the bipartitus or are they paired?

Not at all. I had a full grown one in a 36g bowfront with plenty of rocks. The fish had a blast hunting pods all day.

None of them show aggression, I did have a trio however I’m not able to say exactly why the third died as she didn’t do too well from day one.
