Wrasse ID

Hey!
Would anyone be able to ID my new fish? It came to me as a "Red Bar Razorfish" ehich I can see the Razorfish head, but it has the body of a fairy wrasse.

It's colours are it's stress colours as I had only just put it in my QT

Your pics are pretty clear. We just don't know what it is. Did you buy it online or at a LFS? Online should have supplied you with the scientific name. No?

Xyrichtys splendens maybe?

I dunno either. I believe the fish guys get on in the mornings, so you might have to wait until then for an ID. It does look like he had a bite taken out of him though.

I got it from my work, and I didn't see the scientific name that came with it, plus I know of heaps of cases where the scientific name doesn't match up, so I didn't bother trying to convince someone to bring up the invoice, as they wouldn't anyway.

I had a look at that one earlier, I couldn't find any with appropriate markings or body shape, even as juvies :/

The front spot in his mid-body? It's a black spot, I'll see how he looks now, I just finished work
