Looking for white saltwater aquarium sand need enough for a 2” bed for a 180 gallon tank will come pick up and scoop myself, preferably from a precviously established reef.

Live sand from actual reef tanks aren’t typically sold just due to the amount of gunk and detritus trapped inside over time but if your looking for sand with beneficial bacteria it can be bought online from brands like caribsea, if you want a step up from that then I would personally by some live sand from @LiverockRocks

I second buying live sand from TBS

See my thing is, I’m not trying to spend $400 on live sand prepackaged do you know of any other cheaper options? And I’m not too worried about the detritus due to the tank itself is going to be heavily built with macro algae

Honestly for live sand I really don’t, you can add some to normal sand to help take down the overall cost, you can also see if your lfs (if you have one) will do a bulk deal on live sand if they sell it

Edit: Another tough thing with getting sand from a tank is it would probably have to be from a breakdown because it can really gunk up someone’s water, in rare cases even semi nuke it

I hope you find a good deal and what your looking for, best of luck and happy reefing!

Most economical real live sand (ie, not just bagged sand with bottled bacteria added) is the CaribSea Ocean Direct. That sand actually comes packaged form the ocean.
That was the sand I started with and it wasn't too expensive
