One mans curse is another mans.....I have had it die off when I run a low nutrient type system designed for sps, other than that manual removal or you get lucky enough to find a fish that likes to eat it, but that is really not a realistic remedy.

Following, because I would sure like to know if there is an easier removal method.

I've flipped rocks up side down before. If you wait till the base completely disappears you should be fine. If it is on the glass try a razor blade but scrape every little piece off and catch any strays. Hope this helps!

Fluke tabs are one of the only sure fire ways. Ripping them could cause them to sprout up all over. They are the plague that's for sure.

I just recently mixed up a kalk paste and injected the mix over the xenia patches in my system while the flow was shut off. My only word of caution is to protect any other coral around the area you work in by blasting off excess kalk with a turkey baster because the mix can burn or even destroy healthy coral if it makes prolonged contact with it.
