I am creating my first tank and this is the 1st piece that I am looking to buy. Cube is 24X24x24 and the highest dimension rating for this light is 24".

I feel like for the price and what I have read this should be sufficient to start with. I am looking to grow some soft corals (mushrooms, zoas etc) to learn on and add some fish.

Anything I am missing or any reason this would not work for a starter 60 gallon cube?

Thanks for your input!

I know someone will have a different opinion than me. I am going to say no. I would suggest getting one xr30. You do not need a pro model. The xr15 will not be enough light for the whole tank.

I agree the XR30 would do much better.

My experience doing PAR readings with the XR15 pro gen3 is that it's OK for 18x18, but even then you need to run it a near 100% to get 200 PAR at 16" depth and just 6" off center. That's with the 80 degree lens.

I run a XR15 pro gen3 on my 20 long frag tank. If I've got SPS in the tank I put the frag rack just 4" below the water line.

Good feedback. Would there be another cheaper option you might suggest? I am willing to spend the money but not knowing the real differences in the Kessils and other brands out there just not sure what best bang for the buck might be. I want to stay LED for aesthetics and efficiency.

Thanks again!

By a hydra 26 hd, the fixture will cost you 350

Or go with a maxspect razr

There are so many options.
