Been a week now and no sight of it. I'm thinking somehow we lost it unfortunately.

Are yellow and purple wrasse the same as these yellow coris? Both look amazing, and we definitely want one.
One week is still a short period for these guys to go missing.

As for the Halichoeres leucoxanthus, this is the sister species to the chrysus and honestly it’s the prettier version. They have the same care generally however I find Leucoxanthus can be more sensitive.

Do those get along with a melanaurus, and fairy wrasse?

Leucoxanthus is IME the peaceful chrysus and much less boisterous as males. Yes they get along however I wouldn’t risk it if your Mel has become aggressive to a chrysus, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to have any Halichoeres with a male mel that is already boisterous.

Good trouble: Have mushrooms ever become pests in your aquarium?
