I just introduced 2 tangs to the tank yesterday and my yellow coris wrasse that I have had for almost a year is missing could it just be hiding in the sandbed because I spooked it?

Yes. Tangs can be very mean.

Shyness and intimidation and not abnormal. Should pan out- may take a week or two

With the yellow and kole they are just trying to establish dominance and see who is the head of the tank. It will diminish no worries

My powder blue is a real a hole with new fish. I have to put a mirror on one end of the tank to keep him occupied. It reduces the aggression

Yes it took 6 weeks on the dot to come out. Yours may not take that long. It came out bigger and fat still so it was eating at night probably.

Just documenting for future readers benefit. The wrasse is still not out and about but is alive and well. On occasion I spot his head poking out of the sand watching the world go by! 6 week point is Thursday this week :-D
