Thanks everyone! I read a lot of your posts regarding yellow coris before purchasing. It's been just over three weeks and it finally made it's debut this morning, happily eating and exploring the little corner of sand it's been hiding under for almost a month. While it didn't keep me from worrying, it was reassuring to know it's very normal behavior.

Best of luck, assuming she is a Halichoeres chrysus. She is a hardy, nice non-Coris Wrasse.
It seems to be? In the bag and in the first 10 seconds in the tank before it dove into the sand I saw several spots along the dorsal. It looked completely yellow with no sign of a white belly or stripes on it's face. This morning it wasn't displaying it's dorsal but has a very pointed snout and big googly eyes. I don't know if Halichoeres leucoxanthus is ever all yellow as a juvenile? This one is about 3" right now. What other species should I be potentially looking for?

Glad to hear and that you took some comfort in knowing it was normal behavior for the past four weeks. Mine is currently transitioning to male and I’m loving the colors!
