Yellow Finger Gorgonian

I got this nice Yellow Finger Gorgonian from ReefBySteele - not photosynthetic. It's doing pretty well, even after cyanobacteria kept covering it during the big outbreak of 2026. But one of the tips is seemingly dead. Should I cut this off or leave it? I don't know if this is the sort of thing that would continue spreading.

any ideas of what it died of? might be a good idea just to snip it off

Don't know, my only assumption is the cyano outbreak. It was covering the Gorg constantly. The rest of it has fully extended polyps, so it seems fairly happy. I have it under an Orca and a Plank, so it's being shaded from light, and the Plank drops food - which includes coral food - right on it, so it must be getting a fair amount to eat. (Plus I'm dosing Phyto.)

then honestly it just comes down to your personal preference, if you think it'll grow back over the skeleton then leave it if not then I would just cut it

It will grow back over the dead spot quickly. The one I have in my lagoon really took off once it got happy. I frag it all the time because it grows so fast .

Good to hear that it should grow back! I'll leave it alone for now, but keep an eye on it.
