Yellow tail Damsel

Since damsels are more of a group type fish, just wondering if it would be unwise to only purchase one yellowtail/azure Damsel? Or should I get at least 3? Honestly I’d rather just have one but also don’t want it dying

It will be fine alone. They don't need to live in a group.

As above 1 is fine but consider 2 small ones as they will pair and give you more "nature" to watch. I have a pair of azures and they have claimed a small territory but don't bother anything else. I get to see the male trying to get the female into its den to spawn most weeks.
