This is my first time looking at them as I go down my wish list and today one of my lfs had one but it was $499 and about 2 inch is this price good???? If so it might need to come off the list.
Holy moly

I have heard from my LFS that there is several breeders who are in the process of tank raising these tangs. I would either wait for the price to go down or find a local reefer who is selling one because they are doing a tank tear down. I have seen a few reefers in my local area sell these fish for more reasonable prices because they are more concerned with finding a new home for their pet that they have had for years.

also added a yellow mimic to my lagoon recently and regret having passed on them before. Great personality and a deeper canary yellow (for now anyway) than any zebrasoma I have ever seen
Do they turn brown as they age or do they stay yellow?

some turn a subdued chocolate, with contrasting dorsal -anal fins, some a gray to cobalt - not ugly by any stretch
also a workhorse on the algae
